How to Elevate your Street Look style by: Alanood Alsuwailem

My name is Alanood Alsuwailem. I am originally from Saudi Arabia but currently live in Boston and have a master's degree in Business Administration. It may sound odd for someone who is now pursuing fashion.

I have worked for five years in the banking sector surrounded by numbers and an environment where making mistakes is not acceptable. Even though it was a nice five years of experience, I never imagined myself in such a non-creativity environment.

My passion for fashion started when I was a teenager. I love shopping and follow trends, so I decided to master my gifted taste with knowledge and science. I took courses in “personal styling”. Styling is not just about pulling items together to have complete stylish and trendy outfits; basically it is about how it elevates the confidence of the women through the discovery of their own personal style.

Starting as an intern is a very powerful way to know what is going on in this industry, so I started searching the internet for the best personal stylist that I felt I could benefit from. I ran across the Style Your Threads website and it caught my eye. I loved what I read in regards to the achievements that Geraldine has accomplished, the clients’ testimonials and the social involvement that she has for the community.

I am looking forward to becoming a very successful personal stylist back in my country by building a very solid foundation of myself through working with “Style your Threads” and learning all that I can from her outstanding experience.

How to Elevate your Street Look Style by Alanood Alsuwailem

Street-look style has become just as major as the runway shows themselves. You can show up with either casual streetwear style or you can elevate that look by adding some trends of the season, high-end brands or statement pieces.

Essential street-look pieces you need in your wardrobe

1-Tops: start your style with long or short graphic tees, crop tops or un-tucked button-ups.  Leveling up: just add any trend of the season such as Blazers, Baggy puffy jacket, trench coat, cozy flannel shirt or oversized sweater.

2-Bottom: ripped jeans, faded blue and deep-dyed black jeans. Leveling up: If you want to go more fashionable; wide pants, pants with some ideas or any type of skirts would be an excellent choice.

3- Bomber Jackets: leather or jeans jackets are masterpieces and must-haves in your wardrobe.  Leveling up: To be more trendy and stylish; why not to have jackets with details or a military-style cut.
